After your application, your work will be assessed by an acceptance committee. They will assess the submitted work on the following points:
- Expression
- Originality
- Proportion and anatomy
- Use of material
- Finish and detailing
Makers who are assessed positively by the committee may first exhibit their work as a guest on the next DABIDA day, after which a final decision will be made about admission to DABIDA.
If your work does not fully meet the set criteria yet, a candidate membership can be decided. This candidate membership starts for the maximum duration of 2 years. A candidate member may show the work during DABIDA day. During this period, new work must be presented every year. After the period, the work will be reassessed.
Even if it is decided not to be admitted as a DABIDA member, the current DABIDA members are always open to explaining the points for attention and certainly also to point out the positive sides of the work in a substantiating manner. Comments are given to improve the work so that admission at a later stage may be possible. We look forward to new entries with great interest.
